About me
Growing up, I remember watching my grandmother, a self-taught artist, paint in the upstairs of our family home in Connecticut. She painted landscapes, mostly from her imagination. As I watched, I could tell she really enjoyed painting by the joy on her face. She would spend hours painting. I found myself attempting to copy some of her drawings.
These early memories marked the beginning of my lifelong passion for art and inspired me to continue studying art in school. I was fortunate to get formal training from some very talented teachers at the Wooster Art Center. Over the years I have studied art whenever the opportunity came along.
As an oil painter, my primary focuses are natural surroundings, landscapes, water, and portraits. I have always been inspired by nature and being outdoors. I love how the sunlight and sky constantly change to produce so many unique variations of light and shadow. I am drawn to the luminosity that can be achieved by paint on a surface. Twilight is one of my personal favorite times to paint. I am in awe of what a beautiful creation nature is!
These days I am painting more than I ever have and I am glad that Life has brought me to this point.
